I co-hosted USDA Rural Development State Director Gimmie Jo Jansonius for a small business forum with Senator Owens and Rep. Anderson in Harvey County where we all share constituents. We invited area manufactures, financial institutions, small business, chambers, and economic development professionals. We learned about the breath of USDA programs, supporting community bankers on larger loans, and focusing on ancillary growth to the Kansas agricultural sectors. See MoreSee Less

As a legislator, one of my top priorities is partnering with local communities on affordable housing tools and options. I attended the Prime Craftsman Homes grand opening and saw first hand how innovation, affordability, and quality were achieved in the 5 model homes we toured and all are set on permanent foundations. These homes will meet our most pressing needs and I am thankful for the Harvey, Marion, and McPherson county leaders that attended as well. See MoreSee Less

I attended the ground breaking for APAC Shears division new highly sophisticated materials processing plant located in the Newton Industrial Park. Harvey County is thriving and attracting a cluster of supporting industries that will have a regional impact. As legislators we provide the tools for business & local economic development agencies to put forward a compelling story for locating in central Kansas. See MoreSee Less

His current priorities include: The renewal of the US/Canada/Mexico trade agreement; Eliminating digital fees for U.S.-based companies doing work internationally; Improving the tax structure for individuals and small businesses; and the need for clear and concise rules and regulations to allow for long range planning and forecasting.Thank you IdeaTek for hosting our table group!
