I co-hosted USDA Rural Development State Director Gimmie Jo Jansonius for a small business forum with Senator Owens and Rep. Anderson in Harvey County where we all share constituents. ![]()
We invited area manufactures, financial institutions, small business, chambers, and economic development professionals. ![]()
We learned about the breath of USDA programs, supporting community bankers on larger loans, and focusing on ancillary growth to the Kansas agricultural sectors.
As a legislator, one of my top priorities is partnering with local communities on affordable housing tools and options. ![]()
I attended the Prime Craftsman Homes grand opening and saw first hand how innovation, affordability, and quality were achieved in the 5 model homes we toured and all are set on permanent foundations. ![]()
These homes will meet our most pressing needs and I am thankful for the Harvey, Marion, and McPherson county leaders that attended as well.
I attended the ground breaking for APAC Shears division new highly sophisticated materials processing plant located in the Newton Industrial Park. ![]()
Harvey County is thriving and attracting a cluster of supporting industries that will have a regional impact. ![]()
As legislators we provide the tools for business & local economic development agencies to put forward a compelling story for locating in central Kansas.
I attended the Wichita Chamber forum with U.S. Congressman Ron Estes, which represents a part of House District 74.![]()
The Congressman spoke about his federal policy priorities, which would positively impact all Kansans. His current priorities include: The renewal of the US/Canada/Mexico trade agreement; Eliminating digital fees for U.S.-based companies doing work internationally; Improving the tax structure for individuals and small businesses; and the need for clear and concise rules and regulations to allow for long range planning and forecasting.![]()
